Since becoming a dog owner (and apparently an official doorman to all quadrupedal mammalian lifeforms that happen to frequent our household), I must admit that I have become more sensitive to how animals are treated and respected as pets. It's one thing to want to celebrate and document your pet by having a professional photographer shoot a tasteful portrait, but what on this earth would possess an otherwise sane individual to do something like this to a poor, defenceless animal. Surely, the authorities need to be involved at some point.
