Atom. Da bomb?

The gang at Blogger recently announced that its auto-generated newsfeed functionality now supports the Atom syndication format. Can anyone tell me if there is any reason not to switch from an RSS-formatted newsfeed over to Atom? Based on what I've been reading over on AtomEnabled.org, it sounds all fine and dandy. The main catch seems to be that not all client-side newsfeed aggregators (my personal favourite, NetNewsWire, for instance) fully support Atom - yet. I think I'm going to wait a bit longer to switch the feed for this site over to Atom, but it sure seems promising. Additional details explaining why Blogger decided to go the Atom route can be found in this post from last summer on the Blogger Developer Network blog. Basically, it means that getting information in and out of weblogs just got easier.
