The new webmail, man.

Apple unveiled a revamped .Mac webmail today. As expected, it’s chock full of delicious Ajaxy goodness and mimics quite a bit of the functionality of their desktop Mail application. The .Mac Address Book gets a swift kick in the interface as well. I’ve documented some of the major changes in this Flickr photoset. The best part (besides looking one hell of a lot better than Gmail) is that it actually works very well. Nice job, Apple. My webmail is useful again.

Weird thing is, Apple doesn't even advertise it on it's first page.

On a totally different note, I just wanted to thank you for listing interesting domain names. I found one for my blog - so thanks for that one! Modifoo.com

Yeah, you'd think they'd splash it around a bit more - it is a fairly significant accomplishment for an upgrade.

And regarding the domain names... you're welcome. I'm just sorry that the pages haven't been updated in so long. They're in dire need of a revamp... and that is coming eventually.

Don't break out the Champagne just yet -- it appears that the new .Mac client wreaks havoc with html emails. Have you seen what Veer emails look like on the new client?

They're looking fine, Chesh. We did have some issues when the new .Mac webmail came out where some bold declarations were getting overridden by the webmail styles, but we've since made a couple of minor adjustments to the CSS to compensate. We certainly haven't seen anything as disastrous as the issues mentioned in that Campaign Monitor article. Gmail, on the other hand ... what a fuggin' mess that ends up being. Unless you're willing to dive back five years and start using font face tags again, fuggeddabuddit.

Say it.
