After slightly more than a month of downtime due to the unfortunate demise of a certain piece of data storage hardware, I am pleased to report that the grantcam is alive and well once again. The delay was not due to any technical issues. Dear me, no. It was just one of those things that kept creeping ever so slowly further down my to do list. My sincere apologies to those stalkers viewers who were distraught at the prospect of having to look at a image of my empty chair and the back of Mr Retzer's head for weeks on end.

Mac software review site Apple Legal seems to be attempting to promote standards by smacking users of Internet Explorer upside the browser with the following notice. It's mostly true, but rather oddly-worded at that. While I'm the last person to advocate the use of Internet Explorer over other fine web browsing packages, there are other more graceful and bluntly effective ways of discouraging its use. One would be to simply refuse to serve the CSS to non-compliant browsers. That fact that Apple Legal includes a disclaimer at the bottom of this notice regarding the apparent flakiness of their browser sniffing code, just implicates them as part of the reason that their site doesn't work as well as it could. And while some people are moving past web standards as something that needs their full attention, it's apparent that others still need a bit more time in study hall.
[ Update ] The link to the Apple Legal screen grab works now. Sorry, kids.

People really ought to stop comparing the iPod to other MP3 players. It's a losing battle. The iPod deserves to be matched up with more worthy opponents. Finally, somebody has understood the fact that it shouldn't be an analytical comparison of one digital device with a another digital device - it should be a classic digital versus analog rumble. In fact, it should be iPod vs. the Cassette.
All this summer heat sure makes one hungry... and forgetful. To make up for the recent lack of action in the kitchen, here's a heaping helping of tasty fodder for the creatively starved. Pull up a chair, slap on that lobster bib, and dig into three fortnights worth of juicy available domain name of the week morsels. It's a veritable smorgasbord orgasbord orgasbord.

Although the living may be easy, the blogging is not. More important things, too numerous to mention here, have been occupying my time, consuming my energy, and otherwise keeping me from my normal bloggish ways. Please note that the effect is only temporary and all things blog will return to a normalish rate in the near future. Maybe I'll even get the grantcam back in action before long. In the meantime, the fish are jumpin' an' the cotton is high...
Furthermore.
